– I have been saying for several months that Roger Schmidt is the favourite for me. I think I can say it publicly now – I spoke to him on Tuesday. I encouraged him to think about taking over the Polish national team. I think he is a phenomenal professional. His Bayer Leverkusen, PSV Eindhoven and Benfica played phenomenal football. He is a recognised professional with a strong character, and we need one. However, he told me that he had to refuse because he had to take care of his private matters until the end of the year, and from January he would be thinking about returning to the coaching bench. He mentioned clubs to which he also refused. These are big, even very big brands – admitted Hajto in a short conversation published on the polsatsport.pl portal.

And what does president Cezary Kulesza have to say about this? The head of the Polish Football Association, after being elected for another term as head of the football federation, admitted that a new coach will appear no later than the beginning of the new season of the PKO BP Ekstraklasa football league. And it starts on the weekend of July 18-20. So there is really not much time left.
